4 games, 0 goals, Oh Hyun-gyu, it's not time to hang your head just yet.

He finally got his chance to start for the national team, but once again, there was no debut goal. Instead, he missed a crucial chance and his team lost. National striker Oh Hyun-gyu (22-Celtic) said he was "embarrassed" and repeatedly blamed himself.

Oh was called up to the squad led by Jürgen Klinsmann (59) and started and played 63 minutes in an exhibition match against Peru at the Busan Asiad Stadium on Sept. 16. South Korea lost 0-1, and Oh hung his head in shame as he missed a crucial chance. 메이저토토사이트

It was a disappointing result considering Oh's recent rise, as he was named to the national team roster on May 5. It was his second trip aboard the Klinsmann, following an A-match in March, and he shared the front line with Cho Kyu-sung (25-North Hyundai) and Hwang Eui-jo (31-FFC Seoul).

In the previous March, Oh came off the bench. Against Uruguay, he rattled the net with a turning shot that was called back for offside. However, his physicality during the match was enough to attract the attention of the fans.

Since the March A match, Oh has gone from strength to strength for Celtic. In May alone, he scored four goals, making the adjustment period a breeze. The team completed the Domestic Treble (winning three tournaments on home soil).

In the highly anticipated June A match, Oh beat out a host of senior players to earn his first cap on June 16. However, in 63 minutes, he only had two shots on goal, including a one-on-one with the goalkeeper late in the game, where his posture collapsed and he couldn't get a good shot off, sending the ball straight at the keeper. After the game, Oh said, "I think a national striker should have scored from that chance. I'm very ashamed of myself," he said.

There is still plenty of time. At 22 years old, Oh is coming of age. In his four A-match appearances, he has spent just 131 minutes on the pitch. And he's only just finished one match.

Not all of the national team's seniors have scored on their debut. His immediate competitor, Cho Kyu-soo, scored his debut goal after five games. Hwang Eui-jo found the back of the net in his third game, but it took him three years to score his second. His fellow starter, Hwang Hee-chan, also scored his debut goal 메이저놀이터 after seven games. Further up the roster, players like Lee Seung-hwan (four games) and Lee Dong-guk (10 games) also needed time to get their first goal.

Oh said, "I feel like I have a lot to fill in. I'll try to improve more. I don't know if I will have a chance in the next game, but I will do my best to score against El Salvador," he said, vowing to restore his honor.
